The Sacro Monte della SS. Trinità di Ghiffais located at 360 metres above sea level on the slopes of Monte Cargiagowith a splendid view on the Lake Maggiore.
 Desired by Borromeo between the end of the 16^th and the middle of the 17^th century he supposedly portrayed some episodes of the Old and the New Testaments. In reality the project never came to completion, realizing itself in only three chapels: the first one is dedicated to the Coronation of Mary, the second one to John the Baptist, the third one to Abraham.
In the second half of the 18^th century, the Via Crucis (Way of the Cross) portico and the chapel of our Lady of Sorrows were then added.
The current church was erected in the first decades of the 1600s. Inside are found the altar of the Trinity and the miraculous fresco in which the image of Christ is reproduced three times.
Next to the Sanctuary there is the Hermitage House.

From Turin: Autostrada Torino-Trieste (A4) – to the Autostrada dei Trafori (A26),to the uscita(exit) Gravellona Toce exit, direction Verbania, reaching the Comune di Ghiffavia coastal route.

From Genoa: Autostrada dei Trafori (A26),exit Gravellona Toce, direction Verbania, reaching the Comune di Ghiffavia coastal route.

From Milan: from Milano Centrale or Milano Porta Garibaldi in the direction of Domodossola. Stop: Verbania Pallanza.
From Turin: from Torino Porta Nuovato Santhia. From Santhia to Arona. From Aronato Verbania Pallanza.
From Genoa: from Genoa Piazza Principeto Milano Centrale. From Milano Centralein the direction of Domodossola. Stop: Verbania Pallanza.
From the Verbania Pallanzastation of it is then possible to catch the bus to Intra. At Intrachange buses in the direction of Cannobioor Brissago. Stop: Ghiffa. It takes about 30 minutes on foot to get from the bus stop to the Sacro Monte(Sacred Mountain).
